Sherwood Air 600XL — choose this for premium fabric and exceptional space
The Sherwood Air 600XL is Vango's flagship 6-person inflatable, sitting in the premium Excel collection. The Sentinel Excel 150D embossed fabric with a 5,000 mm hydrostatic head is a significant step up from the Savannah's Sentinel Protect (4,000 mm HH) — a heavier, more durable construction built for frequent use in demanding conditions.
The dimensions are also substantially larger — 700 × 440 cm with a 220 cm standing height. That extra 440 cm width (vs the Savannah's ~300 cm) creates a genuinely roomier living space that a family of six can actually move around in comfortably. The Smart Pack roller bag also makes packing down significantly easier than a standard carry bag.
At £1,269 it's £370 more than the Savannah Air 600XL. For regular campers or families doing extended stays in exposed South West locations, the fabric upgrade and extra space justify the premium over many seasons.

Savannah Air 600XL — choose this for great-value 6-person AirBeam® performance
The Savannah Air 600XL uses Sentinel Protect fabric with a 4,000 mm hydrostatic head — capable of handling sustained South West rain without issue. The AirBeam® system pitches fast, the front awning adds covered living space, and at £899 (with a free footprint) it's excellent value for a 6-person inflatable tent.
It's lighter than the Sherwood and packs into a smaller bag, which can matter when you're loading the car for a family trip down to Cornwall.
Best for: Families looking for great-value 6-person inflatable performance, occasional to regular campers, and those who want a lighter, more affordable package without compromising on AirBeam® convenience.

Which Is Better for South West Camping?
Both tents handle Cornish and Devon conditions well. The Savannah's 4,000 mm HH is more than adequate for the vast majority of South West camping trips, including a wet week on the north Cornwall coast.
The Sherwood's 5,000 mm Excel fabric comes into its own on extended stays, year-round camping, or particularly exposed clifftop sites where driving Atlantic rain is a factor. The extra width (440 cm vs ~300 cm) also makes a real difference if your family spends a lot of time inside the tent during poor weather — which, let's be honest, is always a possibility in the South West.

If you camp frequently or want the best — the Sherwood Air 600XL is Vango's finest 6-person inflatable. The 5,000 mm fabric, 220 cm height, 700 × 440 cm footprint, and Smart Pack roller bag are all meaningful upgrades over the Savannah.
If you camp a few times a year and want excellent 6-person AirBeam® performance at a more accessible price — the Savannah Air 600XL is outstanding value and will serve most families brilliantly.
