What Is an All Season Caravan Awning?

An all season caravan awning is built to a higher specification than a standard touring or summer awning. The key differences come down to three things: fabric weight, weatherproofing, and frame strength.

Standard polyester awnings are ideal for short summer trips — lightweight, compact, and easy to pack. But they degrade under prolonged UV exposure, aren't rated for extended rain, and can struggle in autumn storms. All season awnings use heavier-duty fabrics such as TenCate All Season coated polyester, Climatech SR17 or SR21, Sattler Acrylic, and Taslan — materials that resist UV fade, stand up to persistent rain, allow moisture to breathe out, and can remain pitched for weeks or months at a time without degrading.

Frames are equally robust — typically 25mm steel for poled models, or multi-chamber inflatable beams with isolation valves for air awnings. The result is an awning that genuinely extends your caravanning season and gives you a dry, comfortable living space whatever the weather throws at it.
