The mat is advertised as self inflating, however this is very slow with a new mat, and as per instruction it needed a number of mouth breathes to fully inflated. Initially when fully inflated the mat had a dipping crease in it, which concerned me a little. However, the crease did remove in due course. When fully inflated the mat is quite hard, and needs to be adjusted accordingly for comfort. To repack the sleep mat, there is a need to remove as much air as possible, which involves folding the mat and kneeling on it with valves open. It then packs away in it's carrier bag.
